PharmiWeb.com Field Reporter profile: Elaine Ford
Originally from Glasgow and then Aberdeen where she studied for her PhD, Elaine Ford moved to the south in the late 1980s. She has 17 years experience in the Pharma/CRO sector from roles in Clinical Research and Medical Affairs, as Head of Training for Europe for one of the big 5 and as a Director of Clinical Resourcing in the recruitment sector.
In 2005, she set up her own company - only medics ltd, the only resourcing company to focus exclusively on finding roles for physicians in the Pharma, CRO and Biotech markets.
Elaine is also HR qualified. She is a member of the CIPD and is soon to be elected a fellow. She acts as a careers advisor to the BMJ and is a regular presenter and writer on Pharma and Management issues.
A keen cook, (she is an ex-BBC Masterchef finalist), she has also prepared tasty fayre for the UK Living channel and judged cookery competitions alongside certain well-known, temperamental TV chefs! When she is not working (or cooking), Elaine is a Pilates devotee, collector of modern Cornish art and enjoys an eclectic taste in music.
